General Information

The Gold Canyon Arts Festival is a 1-day event held on the 4th Saturday of January each year.  The sponsor of the event is the Gold Canyon Arts Council.  This year’s Festival will again be held on the grounds of the United Methodist Church at 6640 S. King’s Ranch Rd. in Gold Canyon. This venue offers extensive parking and good visibility.  Typically 80 artists show their work.  Last year’s attendance was 3,500 during the Festival hours of 9 AM to 4 PM.  Artist spaces are 10 ft X 10 ft and cost $45.  The use of tents is strongly encouraged but not required.  Restrooms are available inside the church.  Complimentary early morning coffee and assistance setting up and taking down are available on request. 

The Festival also features food vendors and musical entertainment throughout the day.  Artist Hospitality volunteers are available to sign you in, help you find your assigned space and “tent sit” to allow you to take breaks during the day.


All artists will be juried into the show.

If your work is not described by the above, please submit for special consideration (see the application form).  You may submit in more than one category but you may sell your work at the Festival only in those categories approved by the jury.

November 28, 2011 – Deadline for receipt of submitted work.

December 15 – Notification to applicants re jury decision on or before this date.

What to Submit:

Please submit four 4 in X 6 in glossy photographs typical of the work you wish to display or show at the festival.   If you plan to sell in more than one category, please submit four photographs of each type.   All photographs must be identified on the back with your name, the category for jurying and (optional) the name of the work.  Electronic submission of photographs of work by email is also acceptable but be sure to indicate in the email text your name and the category of your submission.  It will be easier for the jury if you send separate emails of photos for each category you are submitting – for example, one email with pictures of your paintings and another email with pictures of your ceramics.

If you wish your photos returned, enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your submission.   

If you are not accepted into the show, your check will be returned to you by regular mail after Dec 15, 2011.

Arizona Sales Tax

            Artists retailing their work to the public at this event are responsible for displaying their TPT sales tax license as required by state law.   If you do not yet have one, information about applying for an AZ TPT license may be found at  Click on the “Forms” tab at the top of the page, then click on “TPT” and fill out the short form application (10759).  The fee is $12.

Terms and Conditions

            Certain important terms and conditions apply to artists showing at the Gold Canyon Arts Festival.  These are listed on the application form and require your signed agreement to be admitted to the show.
