"RECESSION JEWELRY/CHAIN - Lower Cost Chain Making Projects Using Alternative Materials"
Come to this Metalink South free and open to the public demonstration and see what "Recession Jewelry" may be!
Since Martha was 8 years old, she has explored various jewelry techniques including enameling and fabrication. In the early 1980s she went to Penland to study photography which led to her MFA in Photography at the University of Arizona. When her son was small she returned to jewelry doing beadwork and polymer clay. She took a Nan Roche workshop on polymer clay chains. This whet her taste for more chainwork with Kao Medina and Jean Stark in the 1990s. In the last 10 years Martha has been obsessed with making and designing chains with traditional silver and gold as well as alternative materials.
