Your Personal Totem
This class will focus on YOU --- finding your voice, your style. What is your personal history, career, hobbies, or background? That could be where you start. This is YOUR pendant. You will design a one-of-a-kind piece, with a special personal meaning. The student should think about ideas but the final design is not needed until class time. Much of the class will be focused on the hand finishing of the piece. Lexi has several techniques to show, including design, texturing, tube setting, bail design, overlays, ageing and patinas as well as how to correct errors.Bio: Lexi is a retired archaeologist who earned a master's Degree in Jewelry Design and Fabrication because knowledge of metals would help while pursuing a Ph. D in Neolithic Iconography. She has taught high school through University level classes for the last 35 years and has been a Contributing Editor for Lapidary Journal/Jewelry Artist Magazine and Jewelry Making Daily for the past 11 years.
Lexi has coined the term "archaeogica" to describe her own line of jewelry.
