    Objective:

    A juried exhibition dedicated to enhancing the public’s awareness of contemporary craft and quality workmanship while providing a venue for established and emerging artists to share their creative endeavors.

    Juror:

    Sam Chung received his M.F.A. from Arizona State  University and his B.A. degree from St. Olaf College. He has participated in residencies at Anderson Ranch Arts Center and Guldagergaard (Denmark). Sam has exhibited, lectured, and presented workshops both nationally and internationally. His works are included in the collections of the Crocker Art Museum, Guldagergaard, and Incheon World Ceramic Center (Korea). He is an assistant professor of ceramics at Arizona State University.

    The juror will view slide and digital entries and will base selections on mastery of materials,
    creativity and craftsmanship. 

    Eligibility:

    Artists who are ADC members will be eligible to enter their original, handcrafted art.  Artists wishing to join ADC may do so on this website. Select “Get Involved” and click on “Membership Application”.

    Awards:

    Cash awards will be determined by the juror on site after the accepted works are received and reviewed. Winners will be announced at the September 7th opening reception.

    Slide Entries:

    Slides must be 35mm in cardboard or thin plastic mounts, labeled with Artist’s name, Title and Top indicated.

    Digital Entries:

    Digital entries must be submitted in 300dpi, jpeg, 3”x 5” size. Either submit on CD-R disk labeled with artist’s name or email entries to annturpinthayer@gmail.com. Be sure to include the entry number (ex. 001.jpg, 002.jpg) or an abbreviated ID (ex. grnhandbag.jpg) that corresponds to the title on the entry form. All digital entries require a mailed hard copy of the entry form, stamped return envelope and entry fee.

    Presentation:

    Work accepted must be professionally presented and ready to install. Harry Wood Gallery may refuse an entry which is too fragile, damaged, poorly packaged, or if upon arrival, varies significantly from the image submitted. Accepted work may not be withdrawn prior to the show’s closing date.

    Publicity:

    ADC reserves the right to photograph or use images of any accepted work for the purposes of documentation, education and publicity.

    Select register and log-on to download the entry form. After you have logged in and when you are on the registration page select the link titled: "Select this link for entry form page". Please email Chris Eggers if you are have any trouble

    Registration does not enter you into the show but just verifies your membership and allows you to download the entry form. You will need to fill out the entry form and mail it with your entry fee to the address on the form.

    Time line:

    • Aug 6th: Deadline for submissions
    • Aug 13th: Selection notifications mailed/emailed to artists.
    • Sept 2nd: Shipped work must be received
    • Sept 3rd: Delivered work received by 3pm
    • Sept 7th: Exhibition opens
    • Sept 7th: Opening Reception 6-8pm
    • Sept 17th: Pick up work 3-4 pm All shipped work will be returned the following week.
    Shipping and insurance costs to and from the gallery will be the responsibility of the artist.

    Gallery Hours:

    8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday
    Closed: Weekends and major holidays.

    Weekday Parking:  Metered, short-term parking along Forest Avenue and Gammage Parkway; Parking Structure 1 (Apache Boulevard).
    Evening Parking:  Parking Structure 3 (Myrtle Avenue).

    Please bring a favorite dinner dish of your choice to share. Beverages will be provided by ADC, or bring your preferred choice.

    Let everyone know what you’ve been up to by bringing a few pieces of your work for display and discussion. We have full digital capabilities this year to display your digital photos. Send the photos in advance, along with any descriptions, titles or additional information you’d like included to Chris Eggers at chris_eggers_glass@cox.net. He’ll assemble them into a  slide show for everyone to view .

    Have any of those items that always seem to be laying around the studio without a purpose in life? Bring them for a “trash swap” at the end of the evening.
